Qualifications:
Minimum level of education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Apprentice to journeyman Industrial Mechanic/Millwright/Electric Motor Systems Tech.
Special Skills:
Inspect and repair electric motors/generators, pumps and gearboxes
Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
Determining causes of failure and determining best repair method
Using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and multi meters
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
Good communication, time management and team skills
Safe and conscientious attitude
Physical Abilities:
The ability to physically lift 50 LBS
The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved or assembled
The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
Work Performed:
Assembly/disassembly of electric motors/generators, pumps and gearboxes in shop and on-site for customers
Align machines and equipment using tooling and laser alignment equipment
Vibration analysis on equipment
Repair and lubricate machines and equipment
Assemble and install equipment in shop and on customers sites
Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts.
Using hand and power tools
Shrink-fit bushings, sleeves, rings, liners, gears, and wheels to specified items, using portable gas heating equipment.
Pressure wash parts
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
