Description

The Agriculture Certificate Lab Instructor position is an in-scope position reporting to the Business & Skills Training Director. The incumbent will provide instruction in the Agriculture Certificate program to students during their laboratory sessions and provide support and guidance to students as they participate in distance learning for the theory components.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide lab support, with direction from the lead instructor of the Agriculture Certificate program, at specified times in the programs schedule
- Provide support in lab experiences pertaining to modern Agricultural practices, including but not limited to communications, records management, economics, grain/oilseed/pulse crop marketing, pesticide application, plant science, soil science, tillage and direct seeding, and weed/herbicide management
- Provide academic and practical, subject-specific support to individuals and small groups
- Maintain records of achievement, attendance and other student-related information and report such information as required
- Mark lab assignments and exams
- Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment and feedback to students

EDUCATION
The minimum relevant knowledge or formal training essential to perform the functions of this position is a bachelors degree in Agriculture, Crop Science, Agribusiness, or a closely related field with industry of farming related knowledge and experience.

EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two years of recent experience in agriculture
- Experience in adult education is considered an asset
- Experience in delivering lectures is also considered an asset
