Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in social sciences, or humanities preferred;
Direct experience working with the SWIS program or in cross cultural settings;
Experience working with Service Provider Organizations;
Experience working with vulnerable populations;
Language abilities in French;
Required Licenses and/or certificates:
Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check;
Valid class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license and vehicle;

Objectives:
Conduct needs assessments with students and their families;
Provide newcomer students and families with information and referrals;
Work with a team to plan and facilitate orientations, workshops, training sessions and events for newcomers;
Keep up to date client progress notes, complete monthly reporting obligations, maintain caseload and client files;
School & home visits;
Work collaboratively with settlement workers;
Crisis counselling and referrals for families;
Liaise with schools;
Produce, update & distribute SWIS promotional materials;
Probation: Three-months.
