Subterra HDD is seeking a Driller/Locator to join our team. Must be willing to travel to various locations within Canada and work extended hours.
The successful applicant will be a self-motivated individual with strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a high regard for safety in the workplace. Previous knowledge and experience working in HDD is mandatory.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Completing horizontal directional drilling projects within multiple industries
- Locating pilot shots
- Mixing mud
- Completing tooling changes
- Performing maintenance on equipment
- Transporting equipment to site
- Keeping work areas clean
- Following and abiding by safe work practices
- Participation in all HSE related activities, including but not limited to: tailgate meetings, conducting site inspections, incident reporting, and maintaining all required/requested safety training certifications
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent education
- Must have clean driver's abstract and Class 5 License
- Class 1A an asset and preferred
- Must have First Aid CPR-C, H2S Alive, Global Ground Disturbance II, SCOT, WHMIS/TDG, & Pipeline Construction Safety Training or equivalent
- Experience operating Digi-Trak F5 locating system an asset
- Experience operating Ditch Witch JT4020 drill an asset
- Mechanically inclined and confidence in working on various equipment
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs +
- Willing to travel, work extended hours, and work in extreme weather conditions
