Description

Whitmore Park Child Care Cooperative is looking to hire two qualified ECE's to join our team of highly motivated Early Childhood Educators - one full-time ECE and one full-time ECE float.

Our team promotes high quality, age-appropriate, play-based learning in a nurturing environment. We provide clear and consistent boundaries for children in a setting where everyone is safe, comfortable, and respected. Furthermore, our centre is devoted to the children's wellbeing and safety. From our nutritious meals to our daily hygiene routines, we are committed to healthy living. Some general cleaning is also required to ensure a safe and clean environment is maintained.

Core Duties
- Create and implement developmentally appropriate activities based on the interests of the children.
- Develop warm, caring and responsive relationship with each child in the group.
- Establish realistic expectations and clear, developmentally appropriate limits and boundaries for children's behaviour.
- Document and display children's experiences for parents, using a variety of platforms such as SeeSaw, monthly newsletters and bulletin boards.
- Aware of developmental milestones in all ages of children.

Skills
- Effective communication and listening skills with children, parents, and co-workers.
- Ability to work independently with large groups of children.
- Have a positive attitude towards work and take initiative to complete tasks.
- Ability to work in partnership with colleagues and other professionals to support children and their families.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and/or emergency situations.
- Ability to effectively resolve conflict as per centre policy.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English.

Education & Certifications
- Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent
- Early Childhood Educator - level 1, or working towards
- Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C
- Criminal record check required
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

 - Knowledge of licensing regulations

Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
