Duties & Responsibilities
1. Establishes and maintains project review protocol, e.g. internal circulation of project documents for review, comment and approval.
2. Assists parks maintenance staff with project operating costing, e.g. operating impact.
3. Monitors ongoing landscape construction costs and updates overall costs annually.
4. Assists in the maintenance and updating of construction specifications, drawings, and standards.
5. Prepares feasibility studies and cost estimates and co-ordinates the implementation of small-scale landscape construction projects with civic staff.
6. Performs design and AutoCAD drafting services for a variety of landscape development projects.
7. Assists with construction supervision and contract administration of landscape development projects, including, periodic supervision, verification of quantities and the preparation of project reports and certificates.
8. Assists with project planning, budgeting and costing.
9. Assists with general office duties, e.g., files drawings and preparation of tender documents.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized two-year, post-secondary landscape architectural technology program.
- Possession of, or eligibility for, certification as a Landscape Architectural Technologist by a recognized certifying organization.
- Two years related experience.
- Knowledgeable of materials and methods used in landscape construction.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with civic staff, construction personnel, and the public.
- Skill in the operation of a computer with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
