Parkland College is currently seeking an Instructor for the Remote English as a Subsequent Language program. This is a Part-Time, Term position from October 12, 2022 - June 14, 2023 for a total of 264 hours and will take place in Yorkton, SK with the ability to be remote.
The Opportunity:
This position is primarily responsible for instruction of English as a Subsequent Language (ESL). The ESL program is designed for recent immigrants to Canada. The Instructor must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.
Requirements:
-Bachelors Degree specializing in teaching English as a Subsequent Language, Bachelors Degree with a post-graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Subsequent Language, or Bachelors Degree and TESL Saskatchewan accreditation.
-One year recent/relevant work experience working with adult literacy and ESL programming or an equivalent combination.
-To effectively deliver (or be willing to learn in order to effectively deliver) curriculum via a blended curriculum or online delivery model, as required utilizing the Brightspace Learning Management System.
-Demonstrated experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
