Description

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, Director of Programs and Program Manager, the Program Supervisor will act as a positive role model and is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and implementation of appropriate programs for children and youth. This is achieved in alignment with the core values of BGC Canada as well as focusing on key issues and priorities of our community.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
-Ensure that BGC Battlefords provides a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child and youth development, relationships and mentoring opportunities for children and youth.
-Supervise, mentor, and develop children and youth in a safe, caring environment at all times while promoting positive youth experiences and discussions, capitalizing on teachable moments and opportunities.
-Lead and implement programs and activities such as arts and crafts, physical activity, youth leadership and empowerment, and education programs.
-Complete Incident Reports as required.
-Provide First Aid when required.
-Ensure program facilities and grounds are well maintained and clean at the completion of each program and at days end, including securing (locking) of building and facilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge, experience and/or education of program planning and development, coordination, and implementation
-Strong leadership and team qualities
-Ability to work well with limited supervision.
-Effective communication skills both orally and written with children, youth and adults.
Qualifications:
-Minimum one year experience in a programming and/or supervisory capacity
-Valid class five drivers license
-Willingness to complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Other:
-Preference given to individuals with last class spare and/or available to work at 3pm.
-Must be able to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status.
