Responsibilities:
-Carry out mill and field measurements and record data collected
-Input data to appropriate databases
-Assist in maintaining the environmental database and operational records
-Carry out prescribed area, point and personnel monitoring, and develop required records
-Perform calibration and maintenance of measuring devices and systems
-Train/mentor employees
-Liaise with supervisors and workers in departments
-Provide assistance and advice to employees on radiation and environmental protection
-Prepare samples for shipping
-Perform site inspections and assist in cleanup of leaks and spills
-Assist in the operation of landfills, HSWDG facilities and lay-down areas
-Prepare and provide environmental awareness training
Skills and Qualifications:
-Preference will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewan North (RSN)
-Technical school graduate in a related area (preferably with a Radiation Protection or Environmental Studies option) or equivalent qualifications and experience, or 1 to 5 years experience in a field related to environmental or workplace monitoring
-Strong aptitude in mathematics, physics, and computers (i.e. databases)
-Technical and/or report writing skills are an asset
-Ensures accuracy of information gathered
-Able to work independently
-Class 5 drivers license
-Must be physically fit (must be capable of sustained physical activity including: walking, climbing, and lifting)
-Experience operating snow machines, boats, and all-terrain vehicles is an asset
-Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake Mine site
-Maximum 14 days in with at least equivalent time off (Normally 14 days in/14 days out rotating schedule)
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours is frequently required
