Reporting to the Vice President, Operations & Product Development, the Applied Research Lead is responsible for being the lead on providing agronomy guidance and support to retail locations. Additionally, this position would lead, oversee, coordinate, and conduct research to support customized sales recommendations. Location: Saskatchewan
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership to firmly integrate sales and research.
Maintain open, frequent, and guiding communication
Assume the lead point of contact with external contract organizations, industry, and other external research teams.
Collaborate with locations, present at customer events to showcase data and expertise.
Support location sales team by sharing agronomic expertise.
Proactively plan, execute, summarize, and communicate results from growth chamber trials.
Proactively plan, coordinate, support, oversee, summarize, and communicate customer trial research conducted at locations.
Review customer trial data on a location-by-location basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education in agriculture or related science discipline (soil or crop science, ideally).
Farming background and knowledge required.
Experience with conducting and/or coordinating lab and field trial research required.
Ability to make soil fertility recommendations.
Lab skills to manage soil and plant experiments in a growth chamber.
Familiarity with precision agronomy.
Ability to successfully coordinate multiple research activities in varying stages of completion.
Comfort discussing agricultural solutions with producers.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently, remote at times.
Detail orientated with strong written and oral communication skills.
Must possess a valid class 5 drivers license.
