WHO WE ARE:

C-Merak creates 100% Canadian ingredients in our state-of-the-art dry fractionation processing plant. We manage every step of a closed loop production to create fully traceable farm to final ingredient products.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the General Manager or designate, the Terminal Assistant will be responsible for activities related to the handling and shipping of grain.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive grain by truck, including weighing and documentation
Loading and unloading grain safely according to grade specifications
Collecting and testing grain samples
Binning and transferring grain
Operating Terminal control systems
Operating grain cleaning and drying equipment
Regular facility maintenance and housekeeping
Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance checks on terminal equipment
Perform duties in a safe manner as outlined in the Health and Safety Policy
Maintain a positive attitude when dealing with customers, suppliers and the public

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

Strong work ethic, ability to learn and willingness to take on responsibilities of the position
Physical ability to perform the required tasks of the role
Capable working at heights, in dusty conditions and outdoors
Accuracy and attention to detail
Must possess good interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships
Desirable
General labour experience preferably in agriculture and farming
Mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain grain processing equipment
Grain cleaning and/or terminal experience is an asset
Available to work evenings and weekends if required
Valid Class 5 license

EDUCATION:

Grade 12 education or equivalent preferred
