Description

Does working in a Northern location of the province with the flexibility to work a rotation of 2 weeks on 2 weeks off interest you? We are looking for dynamic individuals who are devoted to helping others and improving the lives and wellbeing of children and families to join our team as Child Protection Workers. In this role, you will provide a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative and support services to children and their families using The Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.

We recognize the importance employees place on having flexibility in their work and the balance between work and family.  We have the unique opportunity to offer candidates interested in working in our Buffalo Narrows location a two (2) week drive in, two (2) week drive out position, over a four (4) week averaging period. You will work 11 hour days (Monday through Saturday) for two (2) weeks, and then return to your place of residence for 2 weeks off.

While on location for 2 weeks, Child Protection Workers will also provide Emergency Duty Work in the evenings, when required. Additionally, the successful candidates may be compensated for travel time from their home location to Buffalo Narrows at the beginning and end of the rotation. Staff housing may also be provided.

In this position you will:

-Be responsible for investigating allegations of neglect, physical or sexual abuse, and assessing family functioning determining risk factors to the children's safety, implementing intervention plans and providing support services to the family, as required and
-When necessary, initiate Family Court proceedings and work through this process with the family.

To qualify for this position, you will possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the SASW/CASW or CASWE.
