Description

La Loche is a community of around 2600 people located on the eastern shore of Lac La Loche in Canadas boreal forest. Dene is a language spoken by 89% of the population in La Loche.  La Loche Housing Authority provides social housing to low-income seniors, families, and others who could not otherwise access, safe, secure shelter within La Loche and the neighboring communities.

The La Loche Housing has an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor.  If you are ambitious and skilled in building and property maintenance,we'd love to hear from you!

Reporting to the Manager of LaLoche Housing Authority, you will:
Manage the day to day operations of the Housing Authority maintenance program;
Tender and oversee contracted work to ensure work is completed to standard;and
Develop and deliver an effective preventative maintenance program.

What were looking for:
Knowledge of basic techniques employed in a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, flooring, and electrical.
Experience in estimating, materials purchasing, accounting and budget preparation.
Supervising, planning and coordinating employees and works tasks.

What you'll need:
Grade 12 with post secondary in business or a technical/trade training plus 3 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
Self-motivation, the ability to handle stress and work independently
A valid drivers' license and a reliable, roadworthy vehicle.
Ability to organize and participate in an on-call program for emergencies for evening, weekend and holiday coverage.
An acceptable enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) Criminal Record Check will be required.
