THE POSITION
Reporting to Resource Development Manager, this position provides guidance and support to community front-line workers in the promotion and development of foster parent capacity. The Resource Development Trainer will develop a culturally relevant, First Nations focused, foster parent training program. They will also assist in the screening, training and in preparing potential foster parents for certification, as well as to promote community awareness of foster parenting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Demonstrates and lead behaviours and attitudes that represent the strategic priorities and overall spirit of STC Well-being Services to provide clinical guidance to frontline staff in the community that prevents the loss of children from the family unit and promotes healthy and culturally balanced perspective;
-Develops content for an improved foster parent training program that meets provincial requirements and community needs through culturally appropriate training methods, parenting practices and techniques;
-Establishes a schedule that suits the need for each community and travels to the community to communicate and build relationships with families and staff;
-Provides guidance and support to community front-line workers in foster parent treatment planning and implementation for children in their care.
