Zagim Anishinabk is a progressive First Nations government, located around 22 KM Northeast of Grenfell Town in Saskatchewan.
Work to enhance existing health programs within First Nations communities by working alongside other front-line workers to provide connection and outreach services to families, youth, and community members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and coordinate events in the community alongside other health programs within the First Nation community.
Coordinate and develop a life skills program for young adults.
Provide outreach services to families, children and youth.
Coordinate land-based healing activities and provide land-based programming to community members.
Provide support and aftercare services for clients with mental health and addictions
Coordinate workshops on a variety of topics focusing on mental health, youth, addictions, life skills, etc.
Provide consistent programming to the community by following a yearly work plan.
Manage gaps in services by networking with a variety of service providers.
Develop surveys and focus on evaluation of activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent and/or at least two (2) years work experience working in a related field.
Post-secondary Education in Mental Health or Addictions.
Required training such as: Naloxone Training, ASIST, ASK, Mental Health First Aid, Trauma Informed Care and others.
Ability to work effectively with families and health care staff at the community level.
Knowledge or experience working with First Nations culture.
Land based education knowledge would be an asset.
A clear Criminal Record Check/ Vulnerable sector check.
A valid Drivers Licence is required and must be maintained throughout employment, and access to a dependable vehicle.
