The Ombudsman, an Independent Officer of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, receives, resolves, and investigates complaints from citizens about provincial government and municipal government services, and helps ensure the government is accountable and fair when it provides services to the public. As Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner, the office investigates disclosures of wrongdoings and complaints of reprisal from provincial public servants, and helps to ensure the provincial government provides a workplace where wrongdoings can be safely raised and appropriately addressed.

Complaints Analysts handle a large number of complaints from start to finish. The successful candidate will be a decisive, highly motivated individual with extensive experience in interviewing, assessing complaints and using collaborative problem-solving techniques to respond to calls from the public. As a member of the Intake Team, the successful candidate will have exceptional evaluation and research skills, be able to work independently and within a team, handle competing deadlines and multiple priorities while managing complaints related to administrative decisions of provincial government officials. A Complaints Analyst requires familiarity with the principles of administrative fairness and will analyze and assess legislation, regulations, and policies when dealing with a wide variety of provincial and municipal government complaints. You will need the ability to communicate with individuals who may be distressed, emotionally distraught and bring experience in balancing the need to resolve issues quickly and with effective and thorough analysis while dealing with confidential and sensitive material.
