The Instructor will play an important role in the recruitment and evaluation of the Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) process for Early Childhood Education Level II Programming. The Instructor will also be responsible for delivering up to six courses of ECE Level II programming as well as supervising two practicum placements. Responsibilities include:
-Recruit students for the PLAR process through community engagement and direct contact with ECE Centers in the province
-Instruct up to six Early Childhood Education Level II courses: Interpersonal Communications, Child Development, Foundations of Curriculum, Family & Community Relations, Curriculum Design, Caring and Learning Environment
-Prepare lesson plans and appropriate delivery methods, following the curricular outcomes provided
-Use appropriate methods of facilitation, modeling, and coaching to facilitate learning
-Create and maintain all course-related materials including evaluations, attendance records, and course evaluations
-Create and maintain a creative and positive learning environment that provides the opportunity for meaningful learning and skill development
-Network and build relationships with appropriate employment agencies, networks and employers in the community
Contract Dates: October 24, 2022 to July 31, 2023
This position will work remotely or in-person and may have irregular working hours during the evening and weekends.
