With direction from Willow Cree Health Services (WCHS), the Community Action Plan for Children (CAPC) Coordinator will support and adhere to the Mission/Vision of the organization to provide services to the off-reserve community members of Beardys & Okemasis Cree Nation (BOCN), Duck Lake and Rosthern. The CAPC Coordinator will be a highly-motivated, energetic individual that will oversee all day to day operations of CAPC, which are as follows;
Program planning and delivery for events/activities (i.e. Literacy Nights, Craft Days, Parenting groups, etc.) aimed to meet the needs of clients living in urban areas
Liaise with outside organizations to create partnerships for clients as needed
Conduct needs assessment of local families with young children in the Duck Lake/Rosthern area
Research grants and write proposals to a variety of funding agencies
Participate in community events as required (this may include occasional evenings or weekends)
Handling confidential or sensitive information as needed from the clients (name, birthdate, health card number, treaty number, etc.)
Maintain appropriate records, complete monthly and year-end reports and evaluations for the stakeholders and managing partner
Reporting to our Director of Health
Education & Experience
A Human Services related certificate/diploma/degree;
Supervisory experience;
Combination of relevant education and experience will be considered
Skills
Knowledge of local services available to children and families;
Knowledge of budgets and financial responsibility;
Knowledge of First Nations culture and language;
Maintains a high standard of professionalism;
Maintains strict confidentiality practices;
Special Conditions
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 drivers license and clear driving abstract;
Must have First Aid & CPR (or willingness to complete training)
Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid and ASIST would be an asset
