The Human Resources Coordinator holds primary responsibility for the identification, development, implementation and management of human resource programs and services across LLRIBHS. This work is conducted in a manner that supports strategic objectives and direction as outlined by LLRIBHS.
Responsibilities
Manage, create, recommend, implement and administer HR policies, programs, procedures and objectives and provide effective employee and labour relations
Provide employee relations leadership by ensuring compliance to department policies and practices and Canadian laws and regulations, conducting meetings and responding to questions from Managers, Supervisors and employees
Recommend, implement and administer compensation, employee development, succession planning, benefit communication, and employee programs designed to attract, retain and motivate employees; ensure managers and employees are educated about new programs
Advice, counsel, guide and train Managers, Coordinators and Supervisors on employee related matters. Manage employee disciplinary actions and assist in terminations
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Commerce or related field
CPHR designation is considered a definite asset
3 years management experience in Human Resources is considered an asset
Solid knowledge of employment standards/labour relations legislation
Strong knowledge of HR functions such as recruitment, benefits, compensation, training and health & safety
Strong, conflict management, leadership and mentoring skills
Strong communication, presentation and project management skills
Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening required
Experience working with LLRIB communities is an asset
Knowledge of Woodland Cree Language, Culture and Traditions an asset
Must have a Valid Class 5 Drivers License and willing to travel
