Description

This positions is to program,set up and operate conventional,special purpose and numerical machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts and fit assemble machined parts into complete units applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures,shop mathematics,machinability of materials and layout techniques.
Extensive knowledge of tool geometrics, carbide grades,tool coatings and understand the different grades of raw material
Knowledge of machinists materials, methods, and equipment involved in the machining and/or fabrication of projects
Must have experience in creating setup sheets and effective part setups for complex multistep milling and turning applications and experience with multiple turning centers.
Having experience or training in the use of Solidworks,Bobcad,Mastercam software is an asset.
Able to consistently and efficiently measure part accurately to meet drawing tolerances
Responsibilities:
Read and understand complex drawings and isometric views to select the necessary tools, tool geometries operations and setups to complete machining operations of 3 Axis, 4-Axis
Select the right tool geometrics and calculate highly efficient feed and speeds for each of the tools selected in each of the machining steps.
Prepare programs and create code for turning centers and milling centers and prove out the programs and operate the different controllers on milling and turning centers
Complete part inspections of completed fabricated parts to verify part acceptance and required quality specifications
Fit and assemble parts into assembly using jigs,fixtures,surface plates,surface table, hand tools,and power tools.
Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly using instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and gauge blocks
Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines,and equipment,test
Maintain records,document actions,present reports as required by the employer.
