Description

Southeast College is currently recruiting for a 0.6FTE  Student Advisor in Weyburn. (With travel as required)

Term start date: To be mutually agreed upon
Term end date: May 31, 2023

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with career plans and career inventories
Researching and disseminating information and maintain resources
Developing and facilitating workshops
Assisting with student recruitment and selection
Acting as a learner liaison
Selecting, administering, interpreting and evaluating a variety of assessments
Supporting students with disabilities
Maintaining active liaison with related community service agencies
Providing appropriate referrals  
Develop understanding of and engagement with the employment community
Assist students to understand the labour market

Qualifications
Proficiency with computer applications
Ability to plan/facilitate adult workshops
Knowledge of the communities served
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and to prepare and deliver appropriate clear and concise communications
Ability to practice effective time management and prioritize work

Education and Experience
A relevant bachelor's degree. This education would provide knowledge in career counseling, adult education, testing and assessment programs.
The minimum practical related experience required is two years.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Must be prepared to schedule hours of work according to the demands of the position
Must possess a valid drivers license
Preference may be given to individuals with experience working with adult learners and/or international post-secondary students
Satisfactory CRC
