Job Description: The COVID Communicable Disease Control Coordinator is accountable for planning, implementation and evaluation of COVID related Communicable Disease Control (CDC) programs within the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The COVID CDC Coordinator's scope of practice requires a broad knowledge base and autonomous decision-making skills, with a specialized focus on implementation of provincial standards related to Communicable Disease Control. The coordinator role provides program orientation, ongoing in-servicing and support to designated COVID response staff, including Public Health Nurses within an interdisciplinary service delivery model. CDC. This position is also responsible for auditing program standards for staff adherence, as well as CDC reporting required by the Ministry.
Required Qualifications
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Valid drivers license or the ability to travel both within the Region and Provincially
Bachelor Degree in Nursing with course credits in public health nursing
Experience
Minimum of 5 years recent relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of population health
Effective oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of epidemiologic principles, statistics, microbiology, infectious diseases, patient/resident care practices, quality improvement, program development, product evaluation, and adult education
Knowledge and experience in evaluation and leading process improvement projects, Continuous Quality Improvement methodology and tools (including Lean), change management and performance measurement
Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills<
