Description

The duties of a building superintendent include assisting Property Managers in the development plans for maintenance and repair for multiple properties. Superintendent works in residential buildings to perform basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and heating and air conditioning work as well as carpentry and general maintenance work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Building Superintendent:
Perform regular maintenance work and repairs such as painting, drywall repair and carpentry work.
Make minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
Carry out work alongside with other tradespersons and workers.
Manage and keeps adequate inventory. Organized and store in the proper manner.
May require moving heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Ability to perform basic repairs in electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail oriented and have good scheduling skills.
Proficient at safely using tools associated with the job.
Knowledge of building codes and safety standards.
A valid drivers license and basic first aid skills.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma.
3-5 years experience working on a construction or maintenance crew.
Experienced working on mechanics and with machinery.
License or certificate in one or more of the trades/skills related to the building superintendent duties.
Language for work: English, Chinese

Work Environment:
Able to deal effectively in a team setting
Able to work in physically demanding and uncomfortable areas.
Time will be spent walking all over the property, including up and down the stairs.
Willing to work odd hours including nights and weekends.
