Job Description: The COVID Communicable Disease Control Coordinator is accountable for planning, implementation and evaluation of COVID related Communicable Disease Control (CDC) programs within the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The COVID CDC Coordinators scope of practice requires a broad knowledge base and autonomous decision-making skills, with a specialized focus on implementation of provincial standards related to Communicable Disease Control.  The coordinator role provides program orientation, ongoing in-servicing and support to designated COVID response staff, including Public Health Nurses within an interdisciplinary service delivery model. This position is also responsible for auditing program standards for staff adherence, as well as CDC reporting required by the Ministry.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing with course credits in community health and public health nursing required.    
- Candidates with a minimum of 5 years recent relevant experience.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association.
- Knowledge and ability to apply community health nursing theory and principles.
- Ability to apply intermediate computer skills and applications as required.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 drivers license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of community health and public health concepts.
- Knowledge of public health laws and regulations.
- Utilizes epidemiological models to explain disease patterns in community health.
- Knowledge related to Saskatchewan Communicable Disease Control standards in the Communicable Disease Control Manual.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a variety of people and organizations.
- Ability to be flexible when managing time and workload issues.
