Description

Eden Care Communities (ECC) is a not-for-profit and charitable housing, health care and wellness provider of Long Term Care Homes, Personal Care Homes and Group Home Living in Regina, Saskatoon, and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  Are you passionate about enabling seniors? If so, we are currently looking for a Head Cook for our Regina Lutheran Home location.

REQUIREMENTS
Prepare and cook vegetables, meats, sauces, soups, desserts for meals and snacks
Prepare and monitor special diets
Select recipe/diet alterations
Develop and modify menus as dictated by product availability
Review diet requests, reads menus, recipes, food preparation methods and determines quantities of ingredients
Develop, test and adjust recipes
Prioritize food preparation and cooking tasks
Bake
Ensure Quality Control of food production
Monitor food production and service standards
Ensure and perform temperature audits on food and equipment
Coordinate and prioritize daily work of staff
Provide technical leadership and training to staff
Communicate new policies and procedures to staff
Ensure orientation and training of staff
Ensure staff compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory standards
Provide input into performance appraisals, performance reviews and staffing
Schedule and replace staff
Verify payroll
Deal with client/patient/resident concerns
Order, receive, store, rotate and maintain inventory
Perform various financial duties while adhering to departmental budget
May lead departmental meetings
Coordinate and liaise with other departments and facilities
Maintain menu system
QUALIFICATION
Journeyperson Cook Certificate
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Basic computer skills
Interpersonal skills
Organizational skills
Communication skills
Leadership skills
Ability to work independently
Food Safe certificate
Valid drivers license, where required by the job
