Description

Reporting to the Manager, Health Care Services, the Health Care Services Facilitator is responsible for identifying and resolving problems that develop during treatment or return-to-work programs.  The successful candidate will educate health care professionals and treatment center staff as to Workers Compensation Board requirements on procedures and reporting, and will serve as a resource to both WCB staff and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

A degree or three (3) years successfully completed post-secondary education in a health services profession such as nursing, physiotherapy or occupational therapy and/or currently licensed or eligible for registration/licensure with the self-regulating body for one of the stated health services areas listed above.

Education will be supplemented by at least one year of successful experience demonstrating the ability to do the following:

- Demonstrated medical knowledge as it applies to functional rehabilitation and return-to-work programs.
- Demonstrated case management skills, including problem identification and problem solving, and good medical interpretation skills.
- Oral and written business communication and mediation skills.
- Conducting personal interviews with the public.
- Analyzing facts and obtaining necessary information by the most appropriate means.
- Resolving difficulties and conflicts on the basis of legislation, policy and department processes.
- Organizing work schedules, prioritizing multiple work tasks and completing work within established time frames.
    
A willingness and ability to travel within the province and to work independently away from the office.  A valid driver's license is necessary.
