Description

Brandt is currently seeking an Robotics & Automation Technician to join their Plant Design & Integration Team. The Robotics & Automation Technician will be responsible for implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining robotic welding equipment to all divisions of Brandt Industries. This role will be primarily involved with offline and online programming efforts to scale up robotic welding operations after multiple divisions and product lines. Additionally, the Automation Systems Technician will assist with evaluation and assessment of robot capable parts, capacity planning and daily operations to ensure production KPIs are met.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain safety as a top priority in all duties
- Develop programs for robotic welding systems using offline programming software and online teach pendants
- Perform troubleshooting, problem solving, repairing, adjustment work for Brandts automation systems
- Integration and commissioning of new robot cells and other automation systems onto the production floor
- Provide input on existing and new product design, from a manufacturing and automation perspective, streamlining the transition from prototypes to production
- Support production by ensuring robot cells are in working order and parts are fully welded with minimal defects
- Support quality assurance efforts in identifying root causes in nonconformance reports and providing potential solutions
- Sustain and improve on existing maintenance programs, spare parts plans, and consumable inventory
- Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
- Experience operating and/or programming ABB or Fanuc robots
- Previous welding experience is preferred
- Knowledge of commonly used practices and equipment used in manufacturing
- Basic knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and PLCs would be considered an asset
- Previous experience with maintenance and troubleshooting would be beneficial
