The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Supervise and direct clients as required, following the Centres policy and procedures and this will include disciplinary measures;
Maintain client safety and take remedial action as required;
Supervise and support clients in their homework and activities;
Continuously monitor entrances and exits to property;
Deny/prevent access to the compound by anyone who is not permitted to be there;
Coordinate fire drills and facilitate evacuation drills as needed;
Maintain sidewalks in the absence of maintenance worker (shoveling and/or snow blowing);
Assist in planning and implementation of First Nations cultural and non-cultural activities which support program objectives (eg: smudging, crafts, recreation, videos, AA, drumming);
Coordinate, supervise and facilitate daily recreational/cultural and program related activities;
Prepare Materials for recreation activities;
Monitor and Document client administered medications and personal belongings;
Provide reliable and safe transport service to clients;
Transport clients to appointments, activities, and meetings in a CVA (sometimes under dangerous road conditions, eg: snow and ice);
Conduct regular pre-inspection of Centre vehicles and written report of any required repairs;
Ensure rules of conduct are followed;
Report and record critical incidents according to Centre policies and procedures;
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
Minimum of 2 years experience in similar position;
First Aid and C.P.R. Certification is an asset;
Certificate/training or commensurate combination of education/training and experience;
Must have Class 5 Drivers License.
Must be able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, COVID-19 Vaccination Passport.
