1  Definite Term Contract, Full Time (Ending June 5th, 2023)
Public Health Nurse
For the Community of La Ronge
Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services Department is now inviting applications for a 1 -, Definite Term Contract, Full Time, to help the STBBI (Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infections) Nurse to provide case management of STBBIs to LLRIB communities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to exercise leadership, judgment, independence and put into practice advanced nursing skills. The ideal candidate will be required to provide case management services to the outlying communities of LLRIB.
Duties:
Conduct case work interviews with clients, family members, service providers, and others to obtain information determining client service needs and eligibility;
Identifies psychosocial, economic, and physical needs of clients;
Assesses clients support systems, available community resources, and other factors;
Develop service plans including short term and long term goals depending on client assessment;
Provides health information, skill development, advocacy, crisis intervention and referrals to clients;
Assists clients in making arrangements for transportation to appointments as required;
Focus on prevention, education, awareness and community capacity building, as well as facilitating access to quality and timely diagnosis care, treatment and social support;
Provides workshops and continuing education relating to the social needs of clients with HIV and other related chronic / communicable diseases;
Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designate.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing;
In good standing and registered with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA);
Previous Public Health &/or Acute Care experience is an asset;
Strong leadership and communication skills, and effective public relations skills;
