Cumberland House is a town with a proud history and is the oldest community in Saskatchewan . Honouring their Cree and Metis heritage. This is also a thriving community of over 2000 people who recognize that their traditions and heritage are of principal importance.
Ministik Community School is a K-12 school with a teaching staff of 21 supported by para-professional, clerical, library and counseling staff and provides educational programming for approximately 255 students.
This is a full time, temporary position to start As soon as possible. The successful candidate must be eligible for Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certification. The Swampy Cree N dialect is spoken in the community and fluency in the N dialect would be considered an asset. Having experience teaching Saskatchewan Ministry of Education-approved curricula at a variety of grade levels would be an asset as the successful candidate will be responsible to plan collaboratively with classroom teachers to teach curricular outcomes on the land while speaking the Swampy Cree language.
Salary is according to the provincial grid plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a northern living allowance. Moving assistance may also be available.
