Job Description: The ER Clinical Resource Nurse performs skilled emergency medical treatment / procedures / protocols required to stabilize the sick and injured, in conformance with standards established by Prairie North Regional Health Authority. The incumbent will be accountable for providing clinical education within the scope of their practice and policy development in patient care areas within acute care. The incumbent will provide a leadership role that encourages and maintains a high standard of Best Practice and ethical care that is followed by all members of the interdisciplinary team. The incumbent will collaborate with the Nurse Manager of Emergency/Ambulatory Care, the Director of Acute Care, other nurse managers, clinical nurse educators and staff nurses in developing orientation and specific education/in-services.
The ER Clinical Resource Nurse reports directly to the Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Requires a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
Requires BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, CTAS, N95 Mask Fitting Certification, and TLR instructor courses.
Minimum of 3-5 years recent clinical experience in an acute care environment. Emergency/Intensive Care (Critical Care) nursing experience is preferred.
Other:
Experience with clinical information technology programs/equipment (preferred).
Experience in leading successful quality improvement projects is an asset.
Proficient use of computer, software, and peripheral equipment, i.e., Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft Project, Sharepoint, and Visio).
Proficient use of Sunrise Clinical Manager.
Travel between Prairie North Health Region sites may be required.
