Description

Execute and coordinate the planning, purchasing, storage and preparation of all kitchen and meal needs provided by the Little Red Youth Wellness Centre.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Prepare daily, weekly and monthly menus.
    Prepare 3 meals a day: breakfast, lunch, supper and put out a light evening snack.
    Keep kitchen clean and sanitary at all times.
    Shop for all the groceries of the facility,
    Cook at all Camp outings on the land when all youth are camping out.
    Prepare lunches for clients that will be out for programming during the day.
    Keep an inventory of all pots, pans, dishes, knives, cutting boards, and kitchen equipment owned by MLCFA.
    Ensure youths clean up after themselves and  cleaning up eating area and washing their dishes.
    Host cooking/baking classes for clients and community members when schedule permits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum 5+ years experience in preparing meals for large groups of 20 or more
    Certification in Safe Food Handling, First Aid/CPR, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Defusing and Deescalating, WHMIS is a definite asset
    Ability to understand work directions and manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
    Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.

Position is situated in Little Red River Reserve.
