Description

Applications are invited for a School Counselor to work approximately 25-30 hours per week (including some after school) on a continuing contract. The School Counselor provides services to students who require assistance coping with a variety of personal and social problems as well as some proactive interactions/programs within classrooms for elementary students at two schools.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in social work (or similar credentials), be self-motivated and have previously demonstrated interpersonal/communication skills.  The successful candidate must be able to work closely with staff, in a school setting.  He or she must interact effectively with various human agencies and, when deemed appropriate, coordinate case conferences involving teachers, parents, and students.
