Description

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport's mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors. The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Gate Attendant for Buffalo Pound  Provincial Park. Reporting to the Park Administrative Supervisor, this position will be involved in frontline work at the entry gate and/or Chalet building at the park.

As a front-line staff member you will be expected:

--to greet and provide information to park visitors;
--collect and process all park fees including camping, entry, angling, and miscellaneous recreational rental fees:
--operate a Windows based computer;
-- handle telephone inquiries,
--and general office and light cleaning duties inside and outside the building.

Candidate must possess a current valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to get to the park. This is a less than fulltime term position starting in January and ending in mid-March; 16 to 24 hours weekly pending increment weather. Candidate must be available to work Fridays 3pm-8pm and weekends 9am-5pm.

The successful candidate will have theexperience and ability to:

--respond accurately and courteously to public inquiries;

--calm upset customers by responding to their concerns or complaints;

--operate office equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, answering machines and interac cash systems; and prepare daily deposits.


You will be reliable and trustworthy, with the ability to work alone and independently.
