SOUTHLAND Transportation is seeking a dedicated Operations Manager to join our dynamic team!

The manager role is a position that requires knowledge of transportation and the geographic area. The Manager is required to oversee the operations, safety, training and maintenance of the operation.

Duties and responsibilities include:

* Provide leadership and direction to key departments: Operations, Safety, Training and Maintenance
* Assist in the development of operational budgets and forecasts
* Investigate and initiate change to improve operations systems and procedures
* Recruit, manage, supervise and direct personnel
* Assist with driver performance issues by supervising and supporting the training officer
* Work closely with the maintenance department to ensure adequate numbers and sizes of units are available to cover all routes
* Set-up and input data for driver payroll
* Meet m onthly with Drivers' Reps to discuss issues brought up by drivers
* Handle public and driver inquiries
* Establish and maintain relationships with current and future clients
* Adhere to company Core Values, and achieve its Strategic Goals

Required Qualifications

* Post-secondary education with emphasis on Management; or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of WCB and Occupational Health & Safety regulations and budgeting and financial statements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desired Qualifications

* 3+ years operations and management experience
* Familiarity with transportation sector
* Expertise in organizational planning
* Knowledge of provincial and federal laws & regulations pertaining to industry requirements
