Description

The Early Years Family Resource Centre (EYFRC) is program of the Regina Early Learning Centre developed through a collaborative of community and government stakeholders. The strategic objective of the EYFRC is to create a community-based environment where families can easily access a wide variety of services. It will be a model of integrated services that provides a framework for inter-sectoral collaboration and for combining the interests, expertise and resources of local service providers. EYFRCs will provide an environment where several different program elements are focused on supporting healthy child development and positive parenting skills.

The FRC-HV would provide comprehensive supports to families to promote early literacy, healthy parenting skills, strong parent-child interaction and community engagement to support COVID19 recovery. The home visitor will be skilled in working with families to identify and address risk, support the families strengths and facilitate movement towards change and healthy parenting skills. The onsite involvement will create an opportunity to share information on KidsFirst programming and its benefits with potential KidsFirst families to improve case finding and program enrollment.

The dedicated FRC-HV will provide community based supports for KidsFirst families to promote and enhance positive parent child interaction, child development and family well-being. Having a dedicated home visitor on site will increase case finding and early identification of eligible families that could benefit from KidsFirst services and offer engagement oppor
