Job Description: Under the direction of the Public Health Nursing Manager, the in-scope Communicable Disease Coordinator has responsibility for the development and coordination of the Public Health Communicable Disease Program in Sunrise Health Region based on current legislation.   The Communicable Disease Coordinator works closely with the Medical Health Officer, Infection Control Staff, Employee Health Nursing Staff and other health service providers in the Sunrise Health Region.  The Communicable Disease Coordinator promotes nursing programs and services that are delivered to clients are evidence based, of high quality, and meet or exceed provincial nursing standards.  The Communicable Disease Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting consistent processes and procedures across the region as well as contributing to continuous quality improvement and good health status/outcomes for clients.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support for Care Givers (BLS-HCP)
Immunization Competencies Course
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Valid drivers license or the ability to travel both within the Region and Provincially
Experience
Minimum five (5) years experience (within the past seven (7) to eight (8) years) as a Public Health Nurse.

Note:  This position is open to all SUN members within the bargaining unit as per Article 27.05 of the SUN Collective Bargaining Agreement, however first preference will be given to employees of Sunrise Health Region.
