Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Current CPR Certification
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years recent acute care nursing experience, three (3) of which must be in the specific clinical area working with cardiac monitoring and telemetry and on a surgical unit.  Previous supervisory experience would be an assest.

NOTE: This is a Provincial Posting and is open to all SUN members within the bargaining unit as per Articles 27.02 and 27.05 of the SUN Collective Bargaining Agreement. First preference will be given to employees of the SKHA (Saskatoon) and its affiliated agencies.

Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques
Knowledge of policy and procedure development and quality assurance initiatives.
Knowledge of the role of Surgery 5000 within the entire health system
Knowledge of communication techniques and approaches in order to adapt to multiple and every changing situations and environments.
Knowledge of leadership strategies in order to lead, encourage, advise and cooperate with colleagues to promote and maintain positive relationships, to achieve patient, team and organizational goals within available resources.
Knowledge of current trends, issues and perspectives within surgical nursing.
Demonstrate ability to work within a team environment
Demonstrates above average communication skills
Excellent analytical, judgement and decision making skills.
Demonstrates the ability to be a system thinker
Demonstrates a consultative collaborative approach with nursing and medical staff.
