Responsibilities
Conduct field and lab materials testing (primarily concrete testing and in-field compaction testing) and associated documentation for quality control and quality assurance purposes.
Provide accurate, detailed, and timely reports of all lab and field work.
Maintain a clean and organized lab space and testing equipment.
Maintain organized documentation and filing, aligned with Scissors Creek Testings Quality Management System and document control policies.
Uphold Scissors Creek Testings Safety Management System and ensure all safety requirements of various sites are being met.
Qualifications
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized college or university is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Materials testing experience, especially concrete and soils experience an asset.
Experience with CSA, ASTM, and ACI testing standards.
Strong computer operating skills, including Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willing to work overtime, including long hours, night shifts or weekends, for potentially extended periods of time.
Must contribute to a positive work environment, conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner, and be committed to continual improvement.
Must be eligible to work at Nutrien and Mosaic potash mines, including surface and underground work.
Physical Requirements: frequently lifting up to 50lbs, standing for extended periods of time, walking over rough terrain, and other repetitive movements.
Must have valid class 5 drivers license and provide a clean Drivers Abstract.
Must pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening.
