Description

Duties & Responsibilities:
    Make room reservations, Register guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.
    Assist in preregistration and blocking of rooms for reservations
    Answer inquiries regarding hotel services and registrations by letter, telephone and in person, and respond to guests complaints.
    Thoroughly understand and adhere to proper credit and cash handling policies and procedures. Compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers using appropriate systems.
    Process guest check-outs, present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment.
    Performing cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts, adjustments, paid out's, currency exchange & settlements.
    Understanding room status and room status tracking.
    Know room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
    Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
    Coordinate room status updates with the housekeeping department by notification housekeeping of all check outs, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests, and day use rooms.
    Possessing a working knowledge of the reservations department. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Knows cancellation procedures.
    Knowing how to use front office equipment.
    Following procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes used by guests.
    Using proper telephone etiquette.
    Read and initial pass-on log and bulletin board daily. Is aware of daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel. Attending department meetings.
    Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the management.
    Knowing all safety and emergency procedures is aware of accident prevention policies.
    Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
    Promote local tourism.
