The Northeast Agriculture Research Foundation (NARF) is a non-for-profit, producer directed, crop research and demonstration organization based out of Melfort, SK.
The Research Agronomist will conduct field research and demonstration projects under the direction of the NARF operations Mangager. Duties during the spring, summer, and fall months will mostly consist of outdoor field work, such as marking out trials, seeding, plot maintenance, scouting, spraying, data collection, harvesting plot samples,etc.
Duties during the winter months will consist of processing harvest samples, compiling and submitting data to collaborators, developing project proposals, developing technology transfer materials, attending winter meetings, and preparing for the upcoming field season.
The ideal condidate will have a diploma or bachelor of science in Agriculture with the potential to become registered as an agrologist with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. A Master's of Science is considered an asset.
The job is open to any level of experience. The candidate must have a valid class 5 driver's license. Pesticide applicator's license and experience operating small equipment is an asset.
