As a cook you shall be responsible for the following tasks:
Follow procedures dictated by Saskatchewan Health Regulations and the City of Regina to ensure compliance with food preparation, sanitation and safety standards.
Plan, direct, and execute food preparation and cooking activities on a 6-week rotation basis to meet menu requirements based on the Canadian Food Guide and focusing on nutritious and appealing Canadian and other cuisines.
Collaborate with the Care Manager for all specialized dietary needs and restrictions.
Assist in the planning of special occasions like birthdays, Christmas, New Year, and Thanksgiving meals.
Purchase food and cleaning supplies recommending proper qualities and quantities based on the client's dietary needs and preferences.
Ensure the proper storage and turnover of food supplies.
Monitor fridge and freezer temperatures as per Saskatchewan Health protocols.
Maintain up-to-date records of menus, snacks, equipment temperature checks, and inventory as required by the employer.
Perform other duties as assigned by the employer.
WORK SCHEDULE
You shall work forty (40) hours per week Monday to Wednesday 1500-2300 and Saturday and Sunday 0700-1500 with your workday being scheduled for an eight (8) hour workday with Thursday and Friday as days off.
