POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The MLTC Bioenergy Centre consists of a 6.6 MW power generation system that is fueled primarily by biomass sawmill residuals. The plant supplies power to the SaskPower grid, and provides low-carbon process heating (kilns and building heat). Reporting to the Chief Operator, the successful candidate will foster a strong safety culture within the MLTC Bioenergy Centre and display a desire to advance in the field of power generation.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Train to become competent in plant operation (field and control room)
- Operation of mobile equipment, snow/ash removal, material handling, site cleanup, and yard maintenance
- Attend required safety training and follow all safety protocols
- When deemed competent, provide shift coverage in control room/field
- Assist qualified personnel with maintenance practices
- Perform maintenance and duties at platform heights up to and including 120ft
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Power engineering education/experience will be considered an asset.
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Electrical or mechanical experience/education will be considered an asset
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have strong desire to learn new process and operations
- Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts on both days and nights
- Must be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
