Description

Program:  Next Steps, Sexual Violence Counselling program  
Hours:  28 hours per week            
Location: Yorkton        
Start Date: January 2023

The Program Facilitator/ Community Educator position requires the individual to be dynamic, independent and interactive. This position has two roles: Promoting the SIGN Next Steps, Sexual Violence Counseling program services while providing prevention and awareness education and information sessions around the issues of sexual violence and abuse; and developing and presenting cultural programming with Elders and volunteers for Indigenous families and individuals in Yorkton.

Expectations:
    Facilitate and present required information effectively and appropriately to the audience;
    Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to communicate complex and sensitive information;
    Competency with computers and A/V equipment and with Microsoft Office Suite;
    Organize, schedule, prepare for and attend community education and cultural programming opportunities and events;
    Research and create programs and resource packages;
    Work independently and collaboratively with other professionals;
    Be reliable and flexible to meet the demands of the position;
    Perform tasks to achieve outcomes and meet deadlines;
    Maintain confidentiality;
    Source out and apply for programming grant opportunities;

Qualifications and experience:
    A post-secondary education in a human service related field or an equivalent combination of work experience and education;
    A Valid Drivers License and a safe, reliable vehicle;
    Experience in planning and facilitating groups is preferred;
    A recent (6 months or less), clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
