Description

Purpose: CNC Programmer/CAD Tech is a member of the Tech Team. This team provides support to continuously improve all aspects of the co., & assists anywhere needed.Responsibilities: CNC programming of plasma & punch machines with the focus of improving quality & production efficiencies. CAD design of jigs & fixtures for all equipment/processes and or project takeoffs as required. Perform workload analysis, prioritization, planning, assignment & execution of tasks. Coordinate operational requirements with various departments. Provide technical support & participate in various projects as required. Team Responsibilities:Lead production continuous improvements, incl. but not limited to 5S, SMED and CTR. Identify & work to min. all sources of variability (quality, production time, costs, reliability) within the production process. Evaluate the accuracy of production standards in coordination with area supervisors & mngt.Program CNC equipment to meet production requirements. Train new production staff on technically challenging processes. Establish preventative maint in cooperation with the maint team. Cross train with multiple teams to ensure best possible coverage & communication through product changes & personnel absences. Requirements: A min. of 2 years of experience with CNC equipment or closely related role within a manufacturing co. Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software is a major asses, as this will be a requirement of the position. Have a strong mechanical aptitude & the ability to reverse engineer projects. Be able to read, write & speak English proficiently. Be able to create structure & stability with a rapidly changing & challenging environment. Be able to balance conflicting priorities. Must understand and embrace lean manufacturing concepts.Standard hours of work M-F 8 hour days,but must be flexible. Some overtime may be required.
