Responsibilities
Continual promotion of Jordans Principle to families, communities, and service providers; encourage parents/guardians with children who have unmet needs to apply for the needed services and supports; submit requests to Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) on behalf of such children and families.
Nurture relationships across community-based programs and service providers, and First Nations, federal and provincial programs and services.
Identify/develop possible models of service delivery that will improve timely access to services to First Nation children living within or outside their communities.
Where families may require assistance, assist them in identifying service providers to support childrens access to quality and culturally appropriate health, education and social services, and supports across all stages and levels of care.
Support data collection and analytical activities to better understand the scope of childrens needs and nature of service gaps, such as distributing annual client surveys provided by ISC.
Ongoing case monitoring, developing an immediate appeal process for denial, delays, or disruption of services.
Champion the Jordan Principal process for our community, provide information updates
