Job Description: The Manager, Rehabilitation Services is accountable for the overall development, organization, direction, supervision, administration, coordination & evaluation of Therapy Programming at Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford (SHNB). The 284 bed Provincial Psychiatric Rehabilitation Facility is designated for the care of individuals with a highly complex Psychiatric diagnosis & Mental Health care needs, requiring a level of care & frequency of intervention not routinely provided in an Acute Mental Health setting. Services include Short Term Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services, Extended Rehabilitation Services, Forensic Services, and Combined Mental Health/Corrections Services. There are several specialized Psychosocial Rehabilitation programs, outpatient services, forensic program services as well as respite, assessment & consultation on a provincial basis. SHNB provides a specialized environment to individuals living with complex illnesses and behaviors such as violence, psychotic events, & inappropriate behaviors and is part of a province-wide continuum of psychiatric care.
The Manager, Rehabilitation Services works collaboratively with all SHNB Managers, and in a complex interdisciplinary team environment, providing therapeutic programming to the varied patient populations & ensures they have the ability to participate regardless of their level of functioning. The programming provides direct client rehabilitation assessments and services, daily programming, and treatment. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring quality & safety of all services within this complex framework.
