Description

This position will oversee the operation of the Little Ducklings Childcare Centre in Duck Lake.
Operated under the auspice of Valley Action Abilities, this licensed 48 space childcare is attached to the local community school and provides care to children from 6 weeks to twelve years of age.

Objective:
To ensure the provision of a quality child care services following the provincial Play and Explore Curriculum and to ensure the Centre operates in compliance with the Childcare Act and the Childcare Regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director will oversee all aspects of the operation including , but not limited to:
* Maintaining accurate record keeping (ex. Childrens files, staff files, billing and fee collections, receipts, attendance records, banking etc.) as required for the operation of the Valley Action Childcare Centres.
* Purchasing services, supplies and equipment as need within the operating budget.
* Maintain enrollment through advertisement and delivery of a quality program

Human Resources:
* Recruit qualified staff members in conjunction with the Executive Director.
* Arrange staff schedules to ensure ratios are maintained
* Conduct regular coaching and performance reviews
* Encourage personal and professional growth of staff members.

Program/Child Development:
* Ensure the overall safety and well being of children enrolled at the centres.
* Ensure the implementation of a developmentally appropriate program
* Ensure the implementation of an inclusive program and environment that meets the needs of all children.
* Oversees menu planning
* Communicates with parents through a parent advisory group, HiMama App and other forms of communication
* Present a positive role model.

Qualifications:
ECE Level III or equivalent
Superior Organizational and Communication skills
3 + years as a Childcare Centre Director
A clear criminal record check
A valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle
