Southeast College in Weyburn is expanding its Powerline Technician (PLT) Instructional Team.
Start Date: As available
Ongoing (200-240 days per year)
Joining a team of highly qualified instructional staff, the successful candidate will:
- Instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress across Levels 1-4 of the PLT Apprenticeship Training Program as outlined by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission
- Plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources in classroom and lab settings, including theory and practical
- Prepare learner performance reports and assessments as required
- Maintain a quality, student centered, diverse learning environment
- Serve as a subject matter expert for any related development activities
Instructional topics include, but are not limited to, pole climbing safety, AC and DC theory, rigging, structures, line work, bonding and grounding, line design and drawings, above ground and underground systems, specific terminology associated with the trade and ground disturbance procedures.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Journeyperson Powerline Technician
- 10 years recent and relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application in the industry
Preference may be given to individuals with prior experience instructing adults or in a leadership role, and can demonstrate a strong application of related math concepts
Functional knowledge of computer applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom, or Google Classroom considered an asset

Compensation:
- Salary commensurate with education and experience per SGEU Instructional Grid. SGEU Range 1 ($282.20-425.21/day)
