Facility: CARE SERVICES - SASKATOON
Job Description: Reporting to the Provincial or Site Leader of Supportive Care the Clinical Oncology Social Worker is responsible for providing psychosocial consultation, clinical assessment, clinical intervention and counseling services to patients and families.  This position actively participates in department education programs and is expected to adopt the interdisciplinary model, which defines the department and participates in a manner that embraces this model.
Required Qualifications

Grade 12
Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Membership with Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers
Valid Drivers License
Experience
Three (3) years supervised counseling experience in the field of Psychosocial Oncology or related experience.
Candidates with two (2) years experience and a Masters Degree in Social Work may be considered.  
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated experience and expertise in the recognized social work methodologies of counseling, group work, and community development.
Knowledge of community, social and health care programs within the province.
Ability to plan and deliver education programs to patients, the public and other health care workers.
Communication skills are required to develop and present complex information including written documentation and verbal presentations.
Human relations skills are required to develop relationships of an ongoing specialized nature to conduct in-depth counseling and develop short or long term goals for patients where situations are emotionally charged
Initiative and independent judgment required to solve complex problems.
